On a beautiful June afternoon, the St. Ambrose community celebrated the 25th anniversary of the ordination of its beloved chaplain, Father Chuck Adam, the university's spiritual shepherd since 1996.

"Father Chuck Adam is a native of Richland, Iowa, and graduated from Pekin High School. He attended University of Iowa, graduated from St. Ambrose College (now University), and completed theology studies at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. On June 27, 1986, he was ordained by Bishop O'Keefe at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church, Richland, Iowa.
"He served as parochial vicar at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Davenport, from 1986-90 and at St. Mary Parish, Iowa City, from 1990-92. He then served as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Oskaloosa, Iowa, from 1992-96. Since 1996 Rev. Adam has served at St. Ambrose University. He was rector and vocations director from 1996-2004 and currently serves as rector, chaplain of students and director of campus ministry."
