The Physical Therapy Department depends on so many individuals to ensure our students are prepared for clinical practice. Clinical instructors, therapists who sit on panels, guest instructors, and alumni who help students find housing during out of town internships, they all play an important role in the education of St. Ambrose University students.
A group of Rock Valley Physical Therapy therapists have found a special way to contribute to the Physical Therapy Department. Each year Randy Boldt, Mike Horsfield, and Greg Monson teach in our Professional Practice and Health Care Systems course. They share their expertise about managing physical therapy clinics, assessing employee performance, reimbursement issues, and marketing. At the end of the semester they donate their teaching stipends back to the department to be awarded as student scholarships.
Students who demonstrate a strong commitment to the profession; are involved in student organizations; and have a record of service are selected for the Rock Valley Physical Therapy Scholarship. This year the scholarship winners were (clockwise from top left) Stephanie Aguero, Brent Holcomb, Scott Passman, and Brianna Schlichte. All four will graduate this December.
We thank Randy, Mike, and Greg for their commitment to the Physical Therapy Department.
