The MBA program is off to a fast start this fall with 76 new and 14 re-entry students at our seven campus locations in Davenport, Rock Island, Burlington, Muscatine, Ottumwa, Waterloo, and Cedar Rapids. It is an exciting time to be part of the MBA community at St. Ambrose.
As the new MBA program director, I invite students to get engaged in activities this year. Your feedback is very important to the success and promotion of the H.L. McLaughlin MBA program at St. Ambrose. In addition to having two students participate in the Graduate Student Council, there is a need for 6-10 more students who would like to participate in monthly roundtables with the MBA program director. The roundtable would meet once a month right before class at the New Ventures Center.
Many may not be aware of the updates made to the 39 credit hour MBA program. The curriculum has been revised to reflect advances and technology changes in the business environment. The new MBA degree focuses on practical experiences and an integrative project near the end of the program to showcase the cumulative competencies learned. Please join us for an interactive webinar on October 12 at 9 a.m. or Noon to learn about these innovative changes.
Another initiative being launched by the MBA program this year is the MBA Alumni Ambassador group. We are seeking 8-10 MBA alumni. If you are interested in sharing your MBA journey with potential new students, let me know. Or, if you would like to host an information lunch-n-learn meeting at your workplace, we can provide lunch in addition to information on the MBA program. The time commitment is minimal.
I look forward to meeting and working with you to make it a wonderful learning experience for the 2011-12 academic year!
Teresa L. Hutchinson
MBA Program Director
