Fresh off a Midwest Collegiate Conference championship season and a trip to the NAIA Division II national quarterfinals, the St. Ambrose Queen Bees are off to a rousing starting in Year 2 under head coach Krista Van Hauen.
The 10th-ranked Bees rallied from a double-digit deficit and took down second-ranked Morningside in overtime 75-72 on Saturday at Lee Lohman Arena to improve to 2-0 for the young season. The big victory followed a midweek opportunity to take the floor at Indiana University's famed Assembly Hall for an exhibition contest vs. the NCAA Division I Lady Hoosiers in Bloomington, Ind.
Van Hauen's Queen Bees get a shot at another marquee victory when they travel to Olivet Nazarene for a 3 p.m. contest vs. the 12th-rated team in NAIA Division I this coming Saturday.
