According to the 2009 National Adult Student Priorities Report by Noel Levitz, "Adult students are a growing population on campuses across the country. Students 25 years of age and older make up nearly 50 percent of U.S. college enrollments. Sixty-two percent of these students are enrolled full-time and 97 percent are seeking degrees."

Despite the number of adult learners at SAU, this population tends to feel invisible on campus where most everything is geared towards the traditional student. There are, however, several ways you can be a part of campus life.

Did you know that your SAU student ID card can get you in to many campus events, the fitness center, and even rent recreational equipment all for FREE! Take, for example, the Galvin Fine Arts Center. Enjoy an inspiring range of performance and visual arts opportunities at one of the Quad Cities' finest venues. From professional productions by artists from around the world to stage performances by our own award-winning Theatre Department; from music ensembles engaging the entire community to art galleries showcasing provocative works, Galvin Fine Arts will enrich your life with experiences you won't forget.

Your SAU student ID will also get you in to all regularly scheduled home games for all SAU sport events. It is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. GO FIGHTING BEES and QUEEN BEES!

If you are looking for a great place to workout at SAU, the Lee Lohman Physical Education Center is available for you. Use of the weight room, basketball court, cardiovascular equipment, two racquetball courts, and the track is available to all SAU students, faculty/staff, and Ambrose Club and fitness members. (Please check SAU Athletics website for hours and guidelines.)

Have you ever considered how the Campus Recreation department could be of use to you? Campus Recreation promotes and coordinates campus-wide competitive and recreational sports, as well as aquatics, fitness, outdoor recreation and wellness programs for all students and employees. Events and programs enhance skills, foster life-long friendships, and teach the understanding of true sportsmanship while promoting healthy lifestyle choices. Have you ever wanted to get in touch with the great outdoors, but don't have camping equipment? Campus Recreation has camping supplies such as a 3-person tent, sleeping bags, and ladder golf available for rent free of charge. Visit the Campus Recreation website, fill out the Rent Equipment form, and have some fun!

Being a non-traditional student doesn't mean you can't be a part of campus life. Getting involved is the quickest way to become a part of the campus community and create your own St. Ambrose University experience.
