In honor of our patron saint, whose feast day is Dec. 7, here is a little of his wise counsel for all Ambrosians:
"In accordance with the will of God and the union of nature, we ought to be of mutual help to one another, and to vie with each other in doing our duties, to lay all of our talents, as it were, before all...and to bring help to one another out of devotion or duty." (de Officiis XXVIII. 135)Events:
- An advent communal celebration of the sacrament of reconciliation will take place at 8:30 pm. (Since Dec. 7 is also the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the US entry into WW II, this is a fitting day to celebrate the sacrament of pardon and peace. Extra priests will be present for individual confession.)
- Mass will take place at 9:15 p.m., followed by free "biscuits and honey" in honor of St. Ambrose of Milan, our honey-tongued patron saint.
- Thursday, Dec. 8, is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a holy day of obligation. Mass will take place at noon and 4:30 p.m.
