Leadercast Recap Lunch and Learn sessions

A large group of Quad Cities business people turned out to hear a re-cap of leadership expert Dave Maxwell's Chick-fil-A Leadercast Lunch and Learn session on Jan. 6 at the St. Ambrose 54th Street facility.

January 2012

St. Ambrose College of Business Dean Dave O'Connell thought the first in a series of Chick-fil-A Leadercast Recap Lunch and Learn sessions might draw at least a handful of interested Quad Cities business people on Jan. 6.

A near-capacity auditorium at the 54th Street facility was a bit of a surprise, though.

"I didn't know if we would have 5 or 35," O'Connell said of the noon turnout. "I didn't expect 70."

The one-hour session featured the first of four selected leadership talks culled from last spring's daylong Chick-fil-A Leadercast gathering staged in Atlanta and broadcast live at the Harvest Bible Chapel in Davenport.

Author John Maxwell's talk on the five levels of leadership was the opener in the lunch-and-learn series, which features the four most highly rated lectures from last spring's Leadercast event, O'Connell said.

Future lunch sessions are scheduled for Feb. 3 (featuring money management expert Dave Ramsey), March 2 (Freedom Writer's Foundation founder Erin Gruwell) and April 13 (best-selling marketing expert Seth Godin).

Cost is $10 per session and includes a Chick-fil-A lunch. The programs run from noon to 1 p.m. To register, or for more information, contact Marcia Brandt at 563-322-2065.

St. Ambrose is serving as a co-sponsor of the luncheons along with Integrated Marketing Results and Chick-fil-A. "Results Marketing was looking for an educational partner," O'Connell said, "and we said 'that should be us. This is an opportunity to give more to the community."

SAU has co-sponsored the local broadcasts of the annual spring Leadercast day-long sessions each of the past two springs and will again on May 4.
