St. Ambrose senior Chris Donnelly is among five players chosen for 2012 Capital One Academic All-America College Division Men's Basketball first team. The forward from Peoria, Ill., carries a 3.70 GPA and is majoring in industrial engineering. Earlier, he was named to the all-district academic team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) based on his efforts on the court and in the classroom. A fourth-year starter for coach Ray Shovlain's Midwest Collegiate Conference Bees, Donnelly ranks fourth in the nation in blocked shots this season with an average of 2.07.
