Neil LaBute's "reasons to be pretty" opened in SAU's studio theatre March 22 and ran until March 24.
The cast and crew included Kyle DeFauw as Greg; Amanda Kochanny as Steph; Tony Stratton as Kent and props; Morgan Griffin as Carly and costume designer; Sidney Junk as Stage Manager; Meghan McLaughlin as Assistant Stage Manager; Kris Eitrheim as Lighting Designer; Tyler Reinert as Set Designer; Lindsey Meyer as Marketing; and Dr. Cory Johnson as Faculty Advisor.
"I loved the people in the cast," said Grace Allen '12, the show's director. "They were all so invested in their characters and really thought about why they are the way that they are. It lead to such great discussions."
"reasons to be pretty" is a very challenging production, there is no doubt about that, but Allen is confident the show was a success.
"I think the show [does] a great job of forcing people to reflect on their own lives and the decisions and actions they have made along the way."
"In a two-hour show, all of the characters become completely different people than they are from the beginning," she said. "In most ways, they do a lot of growing up and self reflection and discovery, and in some ways they revert to childish ways."
