St. Ambrose is one of 85 schools nationwide awarded a five-year, $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. The Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) grant is geared to prepare more engineers for one of the fastest growing career fields in the United States.
In addition to scholarships, the grant provides for outreach to smaller, rural schools in Iowa and Illinois, assistance for community college transfer students, aids undergraduate research and supplies job placement assistance.
St. Ambrose University offers degrees in industrial and mechanical engineering.
