

SAU women's volleyball coach Bruce Billingsley achieved his 600th career win on Oct. 23.
The fourth week of October brought a milestone victory for head women's volleyball coach Bruce Billingsley and a nice honor for football quarterback Eric Williamson. Billingsley won his 600th career match on Oct. 23 when his Queen Bees improved to 16-10 for the year. He has won 403 times since coming to St. Ambrose in 1997, including 35 wins at the men's helm. ... Williamson was named NAIA National Player of the Week after setting a school record with seven touchdown passes while throwing for 434 yards in a 63-10 Oct. 20 win over Olivet Nazarene. Freshman Zach Grant had 17 catches for 240 yards and five touchdowns. The Fighting Bees (6-1, 2-1 in the Mid-States Football Association Midwest Division) travel to Waldorf and William Penn in the next two weeks before wrapping up the regular season vs. St. Francis on Nov. 10 at Brady Street Stadium. ... The men's and women's soccer teams both will be seeded third when they open Midwest Collegiate Conference postseason tournament play this weekend. ... The men's basketball season will tip off on Nov. 1, when the Bees host Hannibal-LaGrange. The women begin play two days later vs. Trinity Christian in Palos Heights, Ill.
