The Fighting Bees football program will host an NAIA playoff football game for the first time since 2006. The Bees (9-1) and ranked No. 8 in the final NAIA poll will host No. 9 Southern Oregon (8-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brady Street Stadium in Davenport.
The Bees scored a three-way share of the Mid-States Football Association's Midwest Division title with a 35-20 win over St. Francis on Saturday. Coach Mike Magistrelli's Bees received the league's automatic bid by getting the highest ranking in the final NAIA poll.
Southern Oregon shared the Frontier Conference championship with Montana Tech.
St. Ambrose will be making its 12th appearance in the NAIA playoffs but its first since losing in the first round at the University of Sioux Falls in 2008. The Bees will host their first playoff game since dropping a 38-31 double-overtime game to Morningside in 2006.
