Details on "No Exit"

February 2013

"No Exit" is an existential play written by Jean Paul Sartre that deals with three very different characters from different backgrounds who all end up in the same room in hell. Throughout the play the audience, along with the characters, comes to find out what each person has done to deserve to be in hell. They also figure out that each of the characters will serve as the other characters' torturer. This show calls for 2 men and 2 women.

This Studio Theatre production will be directed by Kristen Jett '13. Jett is asking that everyone prepares a one-minute monologue, and as per department requirements, all majors and minors need one to audition. Jett is just looking for actors who have the ability to bring bold character choices to the audition and who can be coached effectivelhy.

This show is a classic play, which also happens to be on the required reading list for all theatre majors and minors. Scripts are available in the box office in Galvin, and can be checked out for a 24-hour period during normal business hours.

Jett said she is excited to see what different people she is going to have the pleasure of meeting at auditions and is anxious to begin work on the show with the cast.
