MSW Moves to New Location

03/15/2013

The St. Ambrose University School of Social Work has moved. We are now located in the building on 54th Street owned by St. Ambrose University. We are excited share this building with the ACCEL learning community. The ACCEL staff have been a great help getting everyone settled in and acquainted with the building.

The MSW program had gotten too big for our previous Pleasant Street location. Students certainly were feeling the close quarters since it was also shared with the Master's in Speech Language Pathology program.

MSW students say the new building has ample space and that classroom size is bigger, making the environment more learning-friendly. Students also are excited for the large lounge with comfortable chairs as well as high-top tables and chairs.

Students and faculty have said the new location allows the faculty to be more accessible because their offices don't seem "as segregated as in the last building" said one student. Other students agree that it seems easier to communicate with faculty because offices are right next door to classrooms. Overall, the building is fostering more collaborative learning for students and faculty, and continues to prove a smart move for the MSW program.
