This year the Physical Therapy Department has a new face in the front of the classroom: Dr. Jennifer Baird.
Dr. Baird is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Department and started in July 2012. She is a native Midwesterner and earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.
Upon graduation, she worked at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Ill., in the outpatient and inpatient settings. In 2001 she began her studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and earned her PhD in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Motor Control in 2012.
Dr. Baird is teaching a range of courses in the DPT curriculum including geriatrics, therapeutic exercise and kinesiology. She is also collaborating with other faculty members in our Human Motion Analysis Research Laboratory.
Since moving to the Quad Cities, Dr. Baird has found time to ride the bike trails and is preparing to participate in RAGBRAI this summer.
