As theatre students wrap up the school year and start planning for fall, some also are eagerly anticipating summer adventures that include working in theatre ranging from professional to educational. While some are staying closer to the QCA, others can't say the same.
- Juniors Molly Conrad and Sidney Junk will be spending a portion of their summer in Iowa City, Iowa, at the Riverside Theatre Shakespeare Festival. Conrad will be a directing intern and Junk will be working in stage management.
- Seniors Amanda Kochanny and Val Zawada have applied to work with Shellee Frazee '00 at the Beverly Arts Center in Chicago.
- Junior Cami Sackett will be working in Santa Fe, N.M. as part of the stage crew at the Santa Fe Opera.
- First-year Amanda Zweibohmer has accepted a position at Punahou Middle School in Honolulu, Hawaii. She will intern as a teacher's assistant for classes including theatre. She heard about the position through her aunt, Deb Peterson, who works at the school. Throughout the interview process, Zweibohmer impressed with her superb skills of organization and effective management that she also exercised in her position as Assistant Stage Manager for St. Ambrose's latest production, Chicago. "I am very excited to be working with these kids and hope I can make a difference in their lives," Zweibohmer said.
Congratulations and good luck, ladies! We look forward to hearing about the adventures you're sure to have this summer!
