Strzepek Honored by AAUW

06/05/2013

Katy Strzepek, director and assistant professor of women's studies, received the Distinguished Faculty Award from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) of Iowa.

Strzepek was honored for her commitment to the health and education of women on campus, in the community, and trans-nationally, according to Rosanne Krubsack, AAUW Iowa public policy director.

This award is designed to recognize women faculty's exemplary contributions toward creating a climate of gender equity in education in the state of Iowa through excellence in teaching, continual efforts to develop new understandings and competencies in one's discipline, and outstanding leadership in service, which addresses the needs of female students.

Founded in 1881, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is the nation's leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls.
