A silent candlelight march and a vigil of quiet prayer for the people of Syria followed the liturgy of Wednesday's weekly 9:15 p.m. Mass in the Grotto on campus.
Members of the St. Ambrose community remained in prayer until midnight in Christ the King Chapel Chapel.
Wednesday's Mass was offered for the people of Syria and for the millions of refugees and others displaced from their homes by the civil war in that country.
The events took place on the 12th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. The vigil was sponsored by the Student Government Association.
