The SAU Mock Trial Team remains undefeated after two tournaments, one of the best starts in the program's history, according to team coach Henry Marquard.
On Saturday, October 26, the team picked up a third-place trophy at Quincy University's (Ill.) tournament with a 3-0-1 record with victories over Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., and Benedictine College, Atchison, Kan. This follows the team's second-place finish and 4-0 record last week at St. Ambrose's Quad Cities Invitational, with victories over Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and Central College, Pella, Iowa.
Captain Caleb Copley picked up his second individual "top attorney" award in two weeks.
Coach Henry Marquard noted the significance of this year's early success. "This fast start—and wins against four traditionally strong program—is impressive, even more so when you consider that we haven't gone to either tournament with the full team. We're preparing for the next big tests against nationally ranked teams at the upcoming Iowa and Illinois tournaments."
