River environmentalist Chad Pregracke had his audience laughing—and thinking—during a Nov. 13 talk on campus.
The man, who's been a guest at the White House and earned an honorary doctorate from SAU in Public Service, came into the Rogalski Center Ballroom clad in jeans, sweater, and ball cap.
His presentation was as energetic as he is. Pregracke started with a Metallica song, followed with Mississippi and environmental facts (which he claimed was in response to his mother's admonition to "step up his game" during presentations).
What ensued was a rollicking, thoughtful, engaging look at the life of a man who dared to dream big at the age of 23, but who humbly stands by his motto, cleaning up "one river and one piece of garbage at a time."
