Wind Energy Expert Speaks to Future Engineers

engineering students

November 2013

High school and community college students experimented with wind theory and wind turbines, visited with engineering faculty and students, and enjoyed free pizza on Thursday, Nov. 7, during SAU's Exploring Engineering event. It was an opportunity to consider whether a career in industrial or mechanical engineering might be in their future.

Many stayed on for a presentation on wind energy by Tom Wind, owner of Wind Utility Consulting, PC., who discussed the role of engineers in green energy technologies, as well as the future of the industry. Read a Q-C Times Business Journal story about the presentation.
