Major: Theatre, Class of 2005
Post Grad: University of Connecticut, MFA in Acting
Favorite memory: Yikes... there are a lot. It is split between two. The first is being the winner at ACTF my senior year in the Irene Ryan competition and moving on to the Kennedy Center. Second was founding the "Players at Dawn." Andrew Harvey, Daniel Rairdin-Hale, Jessica Rairdin-Hale, and I would get up on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to meet at the Studio Theatre from 6:00am-8:00am. We studied the Meisner technique and Dan shared training from Dell Arte.
What I miss most about the department: I would have to say the people. Walking back into the SAU Theatre Department always feels like coming home.
Currently: I am the Performing Arts Supervisor for Davenport Parks and Recreation and Artistic Director of Davenport Junior Theatre. I was a founding member of the QC Theatre Workshop. I take occasional odd jobs directing and designing in the QCA.
What inspires me: The students at Junior Theatre inspire me. I am blessed every day to be around young people, exploring theatre. Only now have some of my students gone off to college. I cannot wait to see where they go in life.
Biggest post-SAU graduation surprise: Falling quickly in love with and swiftly marrying my now-wife of almost five years, Jessica Jane (Stratton) Sheridan.
Advice: I know you hear this a lot, but take advantage of every opportunity. Not every moment is handed to you. Get involved, ask questions and learn all you can about the craft of theatre. A good theatre artist understands the process inside and out.
