The "Around the World in a Snapshot Photo Contest" is an annual event held each Spring during Multicultural Week. The photo contest gives all students, staff, faculty and alumni an opportunity to share their travel experiences as a means to achieve greater understanding of others. Photos are judged by the campus community and winners are selected in these six categories:

  • Architecture
  • Capturing Diversity
  • Creative/Artistic
  • People/Portrait
  • Nature
  • Women & Family

New this year! Winners will be chosen in two additional categories:

  • SAU Abroad - Got a great photo of you sporting Ambrose gear while abroad? Share it!
  • International Students in the U.S. - From New York to California? Where are you traveling while studying abroad at SAU?

Voting & Prizes
Photos will be displayed on campus during Multicultural Week (March 23-28). The SAU community is invited to vote for their favorite photos in each category. The winners will be announced in the "This Week in the Center for International Education" newsletter and on Facebook and Twitter. Winners will receive Bookstore gift certificates. The winning photos in the six original categories will be framed and displayed in the SAU Library for one year. Winners in the new categories will be displayed in the Dean of Students/Residence Life office.

By submitting your photos to the contest, you release all materials to be used by the Center for International Education exclusively for promotional reasons. This includes–but is not limited to–print, video and digital mediums. All photos will be credited to you when used. If photos are found to not have been taken by the person who submitted the photo, entries will automatically be disqualified. Photos will be available for pickup by participants after the contest is over. Photos that are not picked up by May 1 will become the property of the Center for International Education.
