St. Ambrose University will be among nearly 100 educational institutions worldwide participating in the second annual Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day on Thursday, Feb. 27.
SAU Advancement and Alumni Engagement staff and members of the Student Alumni Association will stage a variety of events across campus—all aimed at celebrating ways students and alumni give back to St. Ambrose.
Promotions planned for the day include a social media campaign featuring students holding "Thank You" signs throughout campus, as well as videos of students expressing their thanks to SAU donors. Staff and SAA members also will visit classrooms to take class pictures and to share information about philanthropy and giving. There also will be activities during lunch hour in the Cosgrove Cafeteria.
"Our hope is that students learn how philanthropic giving makes a St. Ambrose education available to students for whom it might have otherwise been out of reach," said Randi Rockwell, coordinator of young alumni engagement and philanthropy and adviser to the SAA. "We also want to make this generation aware that alumni giving is essential to helping campus grow and thrive."
