Grad Student Named STEM Teacher of the Year

The Quad City Engineering and Science Council (QCESC) has recognized Greg Smith with its 2014 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Teacher of the Year award. 

Smith is a Project Lead The Way instructor in the Davenport Schools, where he teaches courses on digital electronics, principles of engineering, computer integrated manufacturing and engineering design. Outside of the classroom, Smith has coached teams to the Iowa state championships in the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics and Real World Design Challenge aircraft design competitions.

Smith is working on his Master of Education in Teaching degree at St. Ambrose.

QCESC is a non-profit, umbrella organization representing more than 30 engineering, science and technical societies in the Quad-Cities area with approximately 5,000 associated professional members. QCESC supports and encourages and supports students to study in STEM-related fields.
