In 1993, St. Ambrose University welcomed its first cohort to what was then a Master of Physical Therapy program. Over the last 20 years the PT Department has evolved with the conversion to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree and the addition of the Orthopaedic Clinical Residency and a Transition DPT program. Since the first class of students, there have been more than 600 graduates from the Physical Therapy Department.
In conjunction with the 2013 Homecoming Weekend last September, the Physical Therapy Department celebrated the 20th anniversary of matriculation by our first class of physical therapy students.
To recognize this accomplishment, the faculty presented a day-long continuing education course, "Using Outcome Measures to Guide the Physical Therapist's Clinical Reasoning Process." Following the course, alums met for a social at the Center for Health Sciences Education. Guests toured the new facility and caught up with each other.
