This year the Physical Therapy Department welcomed Kristin Ryan '04, PT, DPT, CLT to the faculty. Kristin is a 2004 Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate from St. Ambrose University.
Kristin serves as one of the department's Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education in a half-time role. Along with Lynn Frank, Kristin helps coordinate the placement of DPT students in their clinical education experiences and oversee courses dealing with clinical education.
Post-graduation she worked at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago for seven years. In 2011 she returned to the Quad Cities. Since starting at St. Ambrose University, she has helped initiate a program that allows DPT students to complete their neuromuscular internship in Umbertide and Gavinana, Italy. In the summer of 2015 three students will be the first to travel to Italy as part of this program.
Outside of St. Ambrose University, Kristin works clinically for Genesis Health System in Silvis, Ill., where she manages a diverse range of patients. Additionally, Kristin works as an adjunct faculty member in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Black Hawk College.
Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, through their shared interests of music, biking, and skiing. They enjoy traveling to see their family and friends, in addition to time with their goldendoodle, Stella. Kristin and Chris will welcome their first child in November. We are very happy to have Kristin as part of our faculty!
