General announcements

· Marty Coe '13 was awarded a National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) research grant to continue his research related to students' intentions to sit for the CPA exam.

· John Delaney '05 has had his manuscript "Detecting Deceit with Micro Expression Analysis" accepted for publication in Fraud Magazine.

· Shelly McCallum '08, Prof. Monica Forret, and Hans-Georg Wolff have published "Internal and External Networking Behavior: An Investigation of Relationships with Affective, Continuance, and Normative Commitment" in Career Development International.

· Dan Ebener '07 and Fred Smith have a forthcoming book by Paulist Press titled, Strategic Planning: An Interactive Process for Leaders.

· Prof. Monica Forret presented her paper "Looking for Jobs in All the Right Places? Job Search Behaviors in the Boundaryless Career Era" at the recent Academy of Management meeting in Philadelphia where she also received a Best Reviewer award.

· Prof. Arun Pillutla and Supriti Mishra will present "An Investigation into the Role of Board Structure as Antecedent of Firm-Level Sustainability Practices" at the 6th International Conference on Sustainability and Responsibility in October at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Research

Research papers of several DBA students and graduates were accepted for presentation at the upcoming Midwest Academy of Management meeting this October in Minneapolis:

· Current student Bill Holdorf will present "Toward a Definition and a Model of Responsibility."

· B.J. Dunne '13 and Prof. Jessica Greenwald will present "Psychological Safety and Engagement: Clarity Through the Lens of Social Exchange Theory."

· Alec Zama '12 and Arun Pillutla will be presenting "Antecedents of TMT Composition: The Role of the Incoming CEO."

· John Simmons '12, Prof. Monica Forret, and Sherry Sullivan will present "An Empirical Examination of Networking Behaviors and the Kaleidoscope Career Model."

Job changes and promotions

In addition, there have been some recent job changes and promotions among our alums:

· Fr. Sabu George '14 has been named Vice President of St. Claret College in Bangalore, India.

· Michael Hager '14 is now the Senior Vice President for Administration and Financial Services at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

· Marc Parise '05 was recently named Executive Vice President and Director of Real Estate Lending and Equipment for First Midwest Bank in Chicago.

· Deidre Eaton '08 has a new position as the Union Vice President for the American Federation of Government Employees.
