writing prescriptions
counseling on preventive healthcare
performing minor procedures
first-assisting in surgery

Meet two members of our inaugural Master of Physician Assistant Studies class:

Emily Stoner
I have experienced firsthand the powerful ways PAs can improve the lives of their patients, and I hope to someday provide that service to patients of my own, particularly the underserved. As a PA I hope to provide quality healthcare services to those in need, to improve the quality of the lives of my patients, and to always treat my patients with compassionate care.

Natalie Smith
I heard about PAs while in undergrad studies at Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa, and instantly knew it was the perfect profession for me. I followed up by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant to obtain experience hours and worked at a nursing home and in a hospital setting as part of inpatient rehab. I chose St. Ambrose because of the small class size along with faculty who truly care about me and my success. I am also looking forward to using the simulation lab to gain real-world experience before going out to clinical sites. I cannot wait to become a PA and specialize in surgery or pediatrics.
