Senior Spotlight: Alexis Greene

Favorite role: My favorite role at SAU has been Isabella in the Commedia Del' Arte show. We haven't performed the show yet, so I'm not sure if it's cheating, but I love it! The whole process of the show is so much fun and is ensemble driven so it is an extremely different experience from being in a regular play with a script. I never get to play the ingénue in plays/musicals so this is really fun for me to play something new and instead of being helpless I get to be witty and sassy. It is great!

Dream role: I have way too many to list.

What drew you to SAU: I really loved that it was a smaller school after attending UNI and not really enjoying my experience. The staff was really welcoming when I came to visit the school and talk about the theatre department.

Favorite memory at SAU: My favorite memory at SAU was being involved with the theatre department in general. I have so many memories from different shows and you meet so many wonderful people in each production. Also, I love watching myself and others grow throughout the production process. I have too many great memories that I answered in a way that I did not have to pick one, clever huh?

Advice to current and future students: If there is one thing that I regret it is not getting involved right away the first year that I transferred to SAU. I remember auditioning for my first SAU production and I did not get cast and this was terrible for me, but I learned how not to take rejection so personally. I also learned that rejection is part of this business and comes more than success. So, instead of being upset about not getting cast, pick yourself up and start preparing for your next audition.

Plans after graduation: Your guess is as good as mine. Right now, all I want to do is travel and make the world a better place.
