Senior Spotlight: Darian Auge

Major: Music and English

Minor: Art History

Favorite position: Sound designer

Dream position: Music director of a major musical

What drew you to SAU: The almost family-like community of SAU. The first time I visited, I felt like I was at home. The Music Department pursued me quite heavily and helped me through the admissions and audition process. The music faculty's attention made me feel like I wouldn't be another number but a person on this campus.

Favorite memory: There are so many, I don't think I can pick just one. For me, my favorite memories are the little, everyday things that made me feel like part of a family and community. Joking around with Kris Eitrheim in the scene shop. Grabbing coffee with the music professors. Getting hugs from Nancy Hayes every single day. Sitting in on Terri Switzer's art history classes even though I wasn't always taking them. Late nights studying/composing with Jordan and Vince in the music house. Those are my favorite memories.

Advice: Get involved. Jump in with both feet. Take every opportunity given to you and run with it, even if you are terrified. Do everything with 110 percent.

Future Plans: Currently, I have a few classes to finish up at Ambrose so I will be around for a little longer. After that, I plan to attend graduate school and start work on my masters/PhD program in music history.
