Freshman Focus Simon Khoury

03/09/2016

Hometown: Peoria, Illinois.

Major(s): Accounting (and I am thinking about a double major in Finance)

What age did you start theatre?: The first show that I performed in was Oklahoma back in fifth grade in 2007.

What is your dream role and why?: One of my all-time favorite shows is Phantom of the Opera. I don't have any specific roles that I would like to play. I would just enjoy being in the show itself.

What are productions you have been involved in?: I have been involved in many different shows ranging from Beauty and the Beast to West Side Story to The Music Man back in my hometown. I've performed in both my high school and grade school, and at the three different community theatres in the Peoria area.

What is the last show you worked on?: The most recent show I've been in was Junie B. Jones: Jingle Bells, Batman Smells as Jose at St. Ambrose.

Why did you choose SAU?: The main reason I chose SAU was because it was close to home. When I first visited the school I fell in love with the campus and the atmosphere.

If you could choose any job in the world, what would it be?: I would like to get into investment and financial advising for a job when I graduate college.

Who inspires you the most?: My grandfather inspires me the most. He moved to the U.S. when he was younger and built a living from nothing – all to provide for his family. Everything he does is for the good of his family.

Where do you see yourself in five years?: I honestly don't know where I want to be in five years. My main goal right now is to get through school and find a good job.
