SAU Theatre ranks at KCACTF

St. Ambrose students, faculty members, and staff received high rankings and recognition for their skill and creativity during the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for Region V.

The week-long festival began Jan. 22 in Des Moines, Iowa, and offered workshops, performances, and competitions in acting, directing, play critique, lighting, and design.

SAU students competed against hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students from seven states in the region, including Iowa. The students, faculty members, and staff who placed were:

  • Jordan McGinnis, senior, third runner-up in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Audition.
  • McGinnis and senior Jordan Webster-Moore ranked in the top 16 of 330 performances in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Audition and competed in the finals.
  • McGinnis, Moore and Becca Brazel ‘16, ranked in the top 66 of 330 performances in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Audition and competed in the semi-finals.
  • Max Moline, senior, first runner-up in the Society for Directors and Choreographers directing initiative.
  • Moline and Rachael Pribulsky, senior, competed in the semi-finals for the Society for Directors and Choreographers directing initiative.
  • Nick Pearce, senior, and English Department chair and professor Nancy Hayes were awarded a Certificate of Merit for dramaturgy for their work on The Tempest.
  • Kris Eitrheim, Galvin technical director, and Aaron Hook, scene shop foreman, were awarded a Certificate of Merit for their design work on The Tempest.
  • Costumes for Hedda Gabler, created by costume shop manager Dianne Dye, were showcased in the annual costume parade.
  • Theatre professor Corinne Johnson was awarded the Golden Medallion, the highest and most prestigious award from the KCACTF region.
