Reasons We Love SAU — And You Will, Too

August 2017

When Professor John Byrne's Social Marketing students were asked to show why they loved their St. Ambrose experience, they came through in a big way.

Lawyers say you shouldn't ask a question if you don't already know the answer. We knew a lot of the reasons Dr. Byrne's students would share, but a handful surprised us.

Reasons we reasonably anticipated included: the students' love of our sense of community; our strong academics with classes sizes geared to providing as much one-on-one teaching as the student requires; our great athletics programs that don't lose sight of the student part of student-athlete; and the opportunity to make lasting friendships on a campus where people genuinely enjoy the company.

We were a little surprised to learn that big-city and rural kids equally enjoyed the big city in a small-town atmosphere of Davenport and the Quad-Cities.

And we knew Whitey's Ice Cream was good. But the best around? We'll just have to take our students' word for that.

Check out the videos below and see why our students love SAU. And why they think prospective students will love us, too.

Small classes, great people and lots of other reasons

Our community on campus and the community beyond

The opportunity to excel as student and an athlete

Great residence halls and better friends

With people this happy, there's nowhere else we'd want to Bee
