Day Three - It's Physician Assistant Week!

10/08/2014

Entry into the SAU Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program is a competitive process. The program's first 30-member cohort was chosen from a field of 300 qualified applications. Take advantage of a little advice from a few members of the first MPAS class:

Courtney Schroeder
Apply early and work hard for what you want-it will pay off in the end! Set your goals high and dream big!

Madeline Schroeder
Study hard and do well in your prerequisite classes; get as much patient contact and shadowing in the health field as possible and finally, don't become so focused on graduate school that you forget to enjoy your time as an undergrad. Get involved in clubs or extracurricular activities and make the most of your undergraduate experience as it goes by extremely fast!

Brittany Birschbach
Hard work, dedication and determination in pursuing the PA field will pay off. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, you can and will succeed.

Amy Dentlinger
Take advantage of opportunities that expose you to the healthcare field; be proactive and be confident!

Jena Benik
Practice interviewing with another person multiple times. Don't just quiz yourself. Make sure you can answer: Why do you want to be a PA? Be specific. Don't answer why you want to go into medicine/healthcare in general. Make sure you answer why you want to be a PA.
