certified-public-manager-programCertified Public Manager (CPM)

St. Ambrose University and Drake University have partnered to bring a nationally accredited certificate program to the Quad Cities.

Public Sector organizations today more than ever must provide comprehensive educational programming for managers and leaders if they are to meet the challenge of providing world class public service to citizens. The Certified Public Manager (CPM) program is the nationally recognized designation for public sector professionals seeking to meet this challenge.

CPM is currently offered by Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Since 2000, more than 300 state, county, city, and federal professionals have earned the CPM professional designation at the Des Moines location. Many CPM graduates have moved into senior level positions of leadership and are viewed by their organizations key to succession planning.

A partnership between Drake University and St. Ambrose University brings CPM to the Quad Cities enabling this national accredited professional designation to be offered to area professionals. Classes will be taught both by Drake Master of Public Administration and St. Ambrose University faculty-experts in their field.

Who should apply? The program is designed for city, county, state and federal professionals who lead people and/or manage projects. Many public sector organizations feature CPM as their premier training/education program offering for current and up and coming leaders.

Timeline & Cost? The 37-day CPM program meets three days each month for one year.  The format is designed to create a single class of learners who move through the 12 month program as a learning team. The cost is $3,500 per student for 300 hours of programming which results in earning the Certified Public Manager professional designation.

Can CPM be part of a graduate degree? Yes, the CPM program is designed to be integrated with the Master of Public Administration degree program and other graduate programs offered in the Quad Cities through Drake University or St. Ambrose University.  Program flyer coming soon.
