Academic Community For Incoming Students

Bookmark and Share

The Academic Community sets out to select the most well rounded first year students who hold academia and community involvement at the highest priority. Students who are accepted into the Academic community are graded on a comprehensive 80 point scale.

Applications due: June 20, 2014

The scale is based on the following criteria:

  • Students accepted to this community exemplify solid ACT scores and cumulative grade point averages.
  • In addition to academic success, students will be graded on their community involvement while in high school.
  • Finally each student will have to submit written responses to several situation-based essay questions.

The entire selection process aims to find those First Year students who align their personal traits and study habits closest to the mission of St. Ambrose.
