Summer Housing

St. Ambrose offers summer housing to SAU students who are attending classes or working for the university over the summer session, and international students.

Students will be placed–once appropriate units are cleaned–into a preferred setting that offers a kitchen. Fees are based per week and can vary depending on the students' time on campus and class schedules. Contracts for summer will become available after Spring Break and placement is based on availability.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are/will be enrolled in classes at SAU. Housing cost: $87/week for Tiedemann and McCarthy Hall and $98/week for Hagen and North. Summer students may only live on campus while they are enrolled in classes.
  • You are/will be employed by SAU for a minimum of 30 hours/week. Housing cost: free. Please note: a summer employment/internship and housing agreement must accompany the contract and be signed by the student and his/her supervisor confirming the on-campus employment and number of hours.
  • You are enrolled in classes AND employed by SAU for a minimum of 30 hours/week. Housing cost: free. Please note: a summer employment/internship and housing agreement must accompany the contract and be signed by the student and his/her supervisor confirming the on-campus employment and number of hours.
  • You are/will be completing an internship approved through the SAU Career Center Housing cost: $87/week for Tiedemann and McCarthy Hall and $98/week for Hagen and North. Please note: a summer employment/internship and housing agreement must accompany the contract and be signed by the Career Center. Please make sure you have a resume, Bee Careers account, and scheduled meeting with Angela Wolfe in the SAU Career Center prior to turning in your application. This is not just a sign off situation. Some time and work must be put into the matter before approval.
  • You are an international student. Housing cost: $87/week for Tiedemann and McCarthy Hall and $98/week for Hagen and North.  Eligibility: if your primary residence is outside the United States, you are eligible to live in summer housing.
  • You are an international student AND employed by SAU for a minimum of 30 hours/week. Housing cost: free. Please note: a summer employment/internship and housing agreement must accompany the contract and be signed by the student and his/her supervisor confirming the on-campus employment and number of hours.


Below are the links to the forms that you will need. When completed, bring the contract and agreement form to the Residence Life Office in the Rogalski Center. The due date is April 25, 2014.


Housing assignments will be in Tiedemann Hall, Hagen HallNorth Hall, and McCarthy Hall. Assignments are based on University needs and availability. Unfortunately not every preference will be accommodated. Please also note that meal plans are not offered during the summer.
