Andrea "Andie" Rivera is from Caguas, Puerto Rico. She is majoring in Theatre and minoring in Radio/TV Production. She will be a senior this academic year. Andie is from a big family and usually misses the warm weather when winter hits but loves hugs from friends to warm up. She is a Student Admissions Representative for students coming to Ambrose from Puerto Rico. Andrea spends her time cooking/baking, singing, dancing and spending time with friends. She is very excited to be a part of the Res Life Team for a second year, hopes to always be a helping hand, and to finish her last year at Ambrose with a... BANG!
Ryan Ford, Second Floor RA
Hi, my name is Ryan Ford. I'm stoked to be part of Resident Life. I am the RA on the second floor of Cosgrove. I am from Woodridge, Ill., and majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Sociology. I work part-time at McDonald's, and I play the alto saxophone in the symphonic band. When I have time to spare, I enjoy playing soccer, wrestling, video games, and watching Netflix. I'm very excited to meet all the residents, and I can't wait to make this a very enjoyable year!
David Francis, Second Floor RA
Hello, I am David Francis. I am going to be a sophomore here at the BeeNation. I am on the St. Ambrose soccer team and also involved in many activities on campus. I am an Exercise Science major with the hope of being a physical therapist. I love hanging with friends and family. I also love a good movie night and just being crazy goofy. I love to have fun, and I have a great sense of humor. I am looking forward to meeting all the new incoming freshman!
Garrett Gusakow, Third Floor RA
Hello, I am Garrett Gusakow and I grew up in Crystal Lake, Ill., where I attended Crystal Lake High School and played soccer, lacrosse, and football. My hard work in football got me a football scholarship here at SAU for punting. I am a Marketing and International Business major with an Organizational Leadership minor. This year I am a sophomore here at St. Ambrose. I am a huge Miami Dolphins fan. Probably the best thing that describes me is my sense of humor; I like making people laugh and making people happy. My favorite movie is Anchorman and my favorite comedian is Daniel Tosh.
Michael Knoll, Third Floor RA
A junior from Melbourne, Australia, Michael is looking forward to his second year in Residence Life. A recruit on the varsity basketball team, Michael has enjoyed playing for St. Ambrose the last two years and is excited for the upcoming season. Michael has also been involved in numerous campus activities such as Habitat for Humanity, intramural volleyball and hockey (to name a few). Michael is studying Human Performance and Fitness and is excited about working in this field. Apart from sports and studying, Michael enjoys spending his time hanging out with mates, skateboarding, and being in the outdoors.
Savannah Hill, Fourth Floor RA
Savannah is a sophomore Psychology/Pre-OT major from San Antonio, Tex. She has a work study job with Campus Recreation and sings in the choir at Christ the King Chapel. Last year she participated in Dance Marathon and is doing so again for the 2014-15 school year. She's a big believer in handling weird situations with humor because it just breaks the tension, so if you ever need some laughter in your day, come by her room for a dose of the funnies.
Makhala Swift, Fourth Floor RA
Makhala will be entering her sophomore year at St. Ambrose for 2014-15. With plans to be a teacher, she is looking to major in Elementary Education with an endorsement in reading. Makhala is more than excited because this will be her first year as an RA. She is looking forward to joining the ResLife team, and sees a great year ahead. Makhala is from Davenport, Iowa, where she was an active member of many groups and teams in high school. While at Ambrose, Makhala was on the competitive cheerleading team and spent any other free time studying hard to maintain a high GPA. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Makhala is positive that fourth floor Cosgrove will have a great year!
