Elections for the GSGA Executive Board take place in April of each year.
To nominate yourself for a position, fill out the election form by April 13, 2014.
Attend the April GSGA meeting (5pm Rogalski Center Ambrose Room). At this meeting you will be asked to briefly introduce yourself, state which position you are running for, and explain what makes you the best candidate for this position. Once all of the candidates have spoken, the current GSGA senators will vote on each position. You will be informed whether or not you were elected by the end of the meeting.
President: The GSGA President is responsible for unifying the membership of GSGA to support the common goals of the senate. He or she presides over all meetings, and has veto and tie-breaking voting privileges. The President also serves as a liaison between the SAU community and graduate students.
Vice-President: The GSGA Vice President has all powers and functions of the President in the absence of the President. The VP also runs the upcoming elections and also acts as a secondary liaison to the campus community.
Treasurer: The GSGA treasurer fiscally manages the assets of GSGA and its budget. Retains receipts for audit, and provides financial support for each GSGA meeting, as well as handling and managing all funding requests that come before the senate.
Secretary: The GSGA secretary is responsible for all internal and external communications. Maintains the meeting minutes as well as attendance.
