Tutorial Program

The Tutorial Program helps students to develop the study skills and habits which allow them to become efficient learners. Services include the following:

• Drop-in Tutorials: Available for most 100 and 200 level courses, as well as writing in any class. Students are encouraged to call in advance to make an appointment, but can drop in to the Center as well.
• Contractual Tutorials: When students request contractual tutorials, they make a commitment to attend tutorial sessions weekly for the entire semester. Students may request contractual tutorials for any 100 or 200 level course by completing a Contractual Tutorial Request Form.

The SSC also provides tutoring in general study skills and for students whose first language is not English.

Students who receive tutoring are taught by trained tutors. The university's Student Success Center tutor training program is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association, an international organization of professionals active in the fields of reading, learning assistance, developmental education, tutoring, and mentoring at the college/adult level.
