This course will explore Argentine historical, political, social and cultural developments from the 1950s to the present. The course topic focuses on human rights and the complex negotiations that take place when a society transitions from a dictatorship to a democracy.
Although this course will be focused on Argentina, similarities and contrasts with other Latin American countries will be pointed out to relate the Argentine experience to a wider regional context.
