Return to St. Ambrose

Students who have left St. Ambrose in good academic standing may return to the university when the time is right for them. A team of returning student advisers has been put in place to walk you through the easy process to return. Find out more about returning to St. Ambrose here

There are a variety of options available to you – and our team of staff members will guide you through what option, or combination of options, will be best as we create a degree completion plan together. Your options include:

  • Online courses that allow you to take class from the comfort of your own home or your favorite coffeeshop.
  • Hybrid courses that mix online and in-person classes.
  • Evening courses – typically held once a week – for students who may work a full-time job or have other daytime responsibilities.
  • Weekend classes, typically held on Saturdays.
  • Traditional morning and afternoon courses held multiple days a week.

To get started, please fill out the quick Returning Student Form.

Students are required to provide transcripts from all schools they have attended since leaving SAU. To be fully accepted back to the university, students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 since leaving. Students with a GPA below 2.0 should fill out the Returning Student Form for evaluation and may be able to return to classes under the provisional guidelines.
