This timetable applies both to high school students and transfers. These are just guidelines, nothing's set in stone, but the sooner you get going, the smoother the process will be.
Check out the campus. If you've got a friend who attends who can show you around, that's great. We still suggest taking an "official" tour through the Admissions Office with a student ambassador. They can set you up to talk to a professor, or students, in your field, and they may show you places your friends have never been (the library?). They can also arrange for you to stay overnight in the residence halls with a current student.
Request an SAU admission application from the St. Ambrose Admissions Office or your school counselor, or get it on-line. Return the application, application fee, and high school/college transcripts to the Admissions Office.
Apply for financial aid. You'll need to fill out the FAFSA, which is a government form. It's available from the St. Ambrose Financial Aid Office, your school, or online.
Submit a residence hall contract, if you plan to live on campus. This should arrive shortly after your acceptance letter, or you can get one from SAU's Residence Life Office.
Priority deadline for financial aid. FAFSA and financial aid information.
Deadline for Iowa Tuition Grant.
Either download an application and mail it in or submit it online.
You can reach the Admissions Office directly at admit@sau.edu or by calling 800/383-2627 or 333-6300.
