Advice for incoming freshman

Stick around campus during the weekends. There are so many events going on for students that it's tough to be bored.

CAB (Campus Activities Board) brings bands, comedians, hypnotists, and more to campus throughout the year. The Galvin Fine Arts Center has student performances in theater and music, as well as student art exhibits. They also bring outside acts into Galvin. There is Late Night @ SAU, which schedules activities every Friday and Saturday night for students.

And don't forget about athletic events; many of the Fighting Bees and Queen Bees compete during the weekends!

Favorite spot on campus

The Galvin Fine Arts Center! I am always amazed at the amount of cool things that happen in Galvin. From music, theater and art to KALA Radio and SAUtv, something is always happening inside. As a student, I was constantly in Galvin working in SAUtv and KALA on broadcasts and real-world projects. Signals from both stations are on 24/7 throughout the Quad Cities which gives Communication major students great professional experience.
