

Internships integrate classroom learning with on-the-job training, and provide employers with the opportunity to identify talented students, recruit more effectively, and spend less time on training. The Career Center assists students to identify and develop career goals, and to apply their academic achievements and learning to their professional goals.
St. Ambrose computer science major David Bloom is making a name for himself as a glitch hunter-he's got a knack for finding mistakes, and notifying big wigs at major technological companies. So far, his discoveries earned him an internship at the Silicon Valley offices of Web search giant Google and, just this most recently, an internship at Opera, one of the oldest internet browser companies, in Oslo, Norway. "It's a lot of fun," he says about his knack of finding errors in computer code. His latest discovery meant that the Opera browser would need to be taken offline to fix. "I was responsible for inconveniencing millions of people," he chuckles.
Leticia Rivera is able to say she helped build a community. Through her internship at Rock Island's Community Caring Conference, Rivera spent the summer working to improve the Century Woods neighborhood.
