Upward Bound is a federally-funded program designed to assist low-income, first generation college students in preparing for and being admitted to the college of their choice.
The program at St. Ambrose University began in 1996. It operates 12 months a year, but for six weeks during the summer the students are involved in a resident program on the SAU campus in which they take either college credit or additional high school courses.
