Frequent Questions and Answers

Is it confidential? 
The counseling center stresses strict confidentiality. You do not need consent from anyone to receive services, and the center operates independently of facuilty or administrative offices. No information can be released to anyone without your signed consent.

Who is it for? 
The counseling center is open to all members of the St. Ambrose community. The process can include spouses, family members, roommates, signficant others, among others.

What does it cost? 
Counseling services are free to all members of the St. Ambrose community.

How do I make an appointment? 
Appointments can be made by calling 319/333-6243 or in person at the counseling center reception area on Gaines Street.

Will I have to wait? 
Usually an appointment can be made within a few days. In cases of immediate need, all efforts will be made to see the individual the same day.
