William Campbell

Dr. Campbell is on Sabbatical Leave for Fall 2017.

Areas of professional interest include music composition, theory and world music.

Dr. Campbell teaches all aspects of music theory and conducts the Chamber Orchestra. His creative work as a composer, pianist, and improviser is well known, and his music can be heard throughout the country in multiple venues. Recent commissions include his Piano Quintet premiered last year by himself at the piano with the Maia String Quartet, and the score to the film Finding Face. Current projects include an upcoming orchestral premiere by the Quad City Symphony spring of 2012. Dr. Campbell's CDs, including the new release Piano Songs may be found on iTunes, CDBaby, and streaming on Pandora.

Dr. Campbell is Professor of Music and Chair of the music department at St. Ambrose University in addition to being the director of contemporary music at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. His music has been awarded by regional and national agencies including the Penfield Commission, Waging Peace and ASCAP.
