I decided to study speech-language pathology because my mom suggested I consider it; moms are smart people. After taking the "Intro" course during my freshman year of college – and learning about the range of clinical opportunities in speech-language pathology and audiology, as well as the diversity of populations with whom SLPs and Audiologists work – I knew that I wanted a career in which I could help people communicate.
